Now trained in First Aid for Dogs!

Me and my mum, who a lot of you have met as my bather/assistant have spent a day in Somerset at Canine Design Academy of Grooming doing a training day in First Aid for dogs.  It was excellent and we both learned a lot and also recieved a certificate.  We wanted you to feel even more confident in knowing that we could care for your dogs in any situation.

Important info on fleas!

ABOUT FLEAS !!!

After a lot of thought I have decided NOT to offer flea treatments as I want my Salon to stay a Flea free zone!
If your dog has fleas I suggest you give your dog flea treatment at home. I normally recommend to do it about a week before they come in for a groom but you can read the instructions on your chosen flea treatment to be sure.

If your dog comes in for a groom with a lot of fleas, there will be an extra £10 fee for the extra time taken to clean the Salon. Thank you.

PUPPIES!

WHEN SHOULD I BOOK MY PUPPY IN FOR A GROOM?

I always say, when your puppy has finished their injections then you can think about booking them in for their first groom experience.  This is a good idea to get your puppy used to the grooming salon, the sounds, grooming table, bath, dryer etc.  It is not about coming in for a hair cut but more about preparing and easing them into the whole grooming experience so that when the time comes for a hair cut, your puppy will be relaxed and ok with it, especially if you have a breed that will need regular grooming.

I like to make a puppy or dogs first groom as relaxing and fun as I can and also to help you and show you how to best care for your dogs coat and what you can do in between grooms to make it a good experience.  If you are really worried about your dogs first groom I can try to arrange a quiet time where you can stay and watch to make sure they settle and put your mind at rest.

Contact me for a chat if you have any more questions.  Thanks.
